Remodeling Countertops in Albany NY with Beautiful Stone Options

Layout of Countertop Dimensions and Price Quote:

  • Square footage of the countertop
  • Edge type – Choose from several choices
  • Sink type – Choose from several stainless steel or white china bowl sinks for no charge after a cutout and polish fee
  • Backsplash – choose height of your backsplash (standard 4 in.)
  • Countertop Removal – We charge to remove and dispose of your existing countertops and to disconnect and reconnect plumbing upon request.

Choosing a stone:

  • Color – colors that compliment one another in a space is something to keep in mind when looking for stone. We suggest bringing in samples of cabinets, paint or tile to help visualize the perfect color combination.
  • Color Variation – Every slab is unique. Consequently, movement, color shading and consistency tends to vary among slabs.
  • Size – The number of seams in your countertop is determined by the size of the slab and your project. There will be fewer seams with a larger slab
  • Availability – We will order stone that is not in stock upon request. We rely on our suppliers and their sources to find these materials. Some additional time may be required to select just the right slabs for your job. Keep this in mind when planning your job timing.
Before Templating:
  • All cabinets need to be installed in their permanent locations, and should not be moved.
  • All appliances should be onsite.
  • Faucets, sink and other accessories should be on site
  • A 50% deposit (projects over $2,500) is received a template will be scheduled. The appointment is usually one to two days after the date on which you are scheduling.

During Template:

  • Cabinets must be secured in their permanent position and any cabinet work affecting dimensions must be completed before template
  • A layout for the sinks, faucets, cooktop/ range, soap dispenser, et cetera must be determined at the time of template.
  • **Any change made after template will likely affect the price of your project and cause delay in fabrication and installation **

Installation:

  • Determine and clear a path for installers carrying cumbersome stone
  • Remove all items from cabinets, drawers and existing counters
  • Installation is likely to get dusty, as the project is a worksite. Partitioning the work area from other parts of your home and turning off the central air system minimizes the spread of dust.
  • In the unlikely event that any damage is done during countertop removal or installation, we take it upon ourselves to fix it
  • Old countertops will be removed and plumbing will be reconnected
  • After installation, we apply a five-year sealant to your new countertops

We look forward to working with you to give you a new countertop!
