Process

GRANITE & MARBLE WORKS is committed to producing the finest product for our customers, while making the process fun and easy…

Before You Order

Drawing/Layout: Come with a layout (or just a simple drawing with measurements) so that we can price out your project on the spot.

Stone Selection: Bring along samples of your cabinet material, wall coverings, paint colors, tile, and any other interior pieces that will help you select the stone for your home. During your visit to our stone gallery, you can choose from the area's largest selection of granite, marble, soapstone, and other natural stone in full slabs. Looking for quartz? We are an authorized quartz dealer, representing several of the major quartz products sold in the United States.

NOTE: All stones have fissures, pitting, and other natural attributes. It's part of the natural beauty of the stone, not a "problem" or "imperfection." Some stones have visible fissures and natural veining that may open up during fabrication. These are taken care of in our shop OR at the job site and will not affect the strength, beauty, or durability of your countertop. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask your salesperson prior to ordering.

Pick an Edge: From simple to ornate, we will be happy to help you find an edge treatment that is perfect for you.

Select a Sink: Selecting a high-quality sink is easy with GRANITE & MARBLE WORKS. We take the stress out of the process by offering a line of USA made, 18-guage stainless steel kitchen sinks and china bowl vanity sinks. We can cut for any sink model you desire. Make sure to tell us about any sink accessories that you would like to include in your customized design.

Choose a Faucet: For your convenience, we also offer options for kitchen and bathroom faucets. Choose one of ours or purchase a faucet on your own. We don’t charge to drill faucet holes.

Backsplash: We can fabricate a backsplash to match your countertops. Of course, tile backsplash is also a very popular choice. Our knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you with design ideas.

Pricing: We charge by the square foot. Unlike other fabricators, we do not make you buy whole slabs. In most cases, you only pay for the part of the stone that is used for your project.

Price Quote: After we have your dimensions and design details, we’ll be able to provide you with an itemized estimate for your project. We can also offer suggestions to help you stick to your budget.

Samples: If available, we will provide you with samples to take home to make your selection easier. Keep in mind that each slab of natural stone has a unique “personality” with color variations and movement, including veining, patterns, markings, and darker or lighter areas. Small samples may not necessarily reflect these natural variations, but they will give you a good idea of how the stone will look in your home.

Ordering & Templating

Firm Order: Once all decisions have been finalized, we will reserve sufficient stone for your job with a firm order. An order is firm when we have received a (1) signed price quote/order form, (2) capital improvement form, and (3) 50% deposit.

Field Measure: We’ll come to you to measure and template your job, which includes confirming all the personal touches you may prefer. We do not disturb your existing countertops to template. At the appointment, all your project details will be finalized, including seam locations, corners, overhangs, radiuses, and support requirements. Click here for our “READY FOR TEMPLATE” CHECKLIST.

Layout: We layout your design and plan the cuts to protect the stone’s natural beauty and its structural integrity, and to take best advantage of natural patterns. We always minimize seams after considering slab size, veining, color variation, movement, site conditions, etc. After template, if you would like to have input on the areas of the stone to include or avoid, we invite you to schedule an appointment to view your template on the stone.

Fabrication: Our experienced artisans then handcraft your project to our own exacting standards using cutting-edge tools and methods.

Installation

Preparation: Please remove any items from your sink base cabinet and provide a clear and safe access area from the driveway to the work area. During installation, work zone traffic must be kept to a minimum. Children and pets cannot be allowed in this area.

Installation: This is the most exciting part of the process! We have an installation team of in-house professionals that are seasoned craftsmen. They will protect your property as they complete their work and will leave the area clean of debris. Once the job is complete, you will be given the opportunity to ask questions and review the work prior to their departure.

Final Payment: We ask that you have the remaining payment of 50% available for the installers to pick-up.

After Installation

Follow-Up: You will receive a follow-up call from our office to ask how you like the finished product and to see if you have any questions. Your happiness is important to us and we sincerely appreciate your business!

Warranty: We warranty our work for one year from the installation date. Asking us to return for repair/maintenance is no problem – just give us a call, even after your first year.

  • We LOVE our new countertops! The Hawaiian Bordeaux is beautiful and really adds to the room. Thanks again.

  • These folks were wonderful. Their warehouse is full of natural stone with all sorts of colors and textures. They give you a grid of the layout and had clearly marked the cost per sq ft. They had our dimensions so they even did several cost scenarios for us. The stone was ready when they told us and BEST of all was keeping their appointment on the day of "blizzard17". These people do...

  • “Granite and Marble Works did the seemingly impossible for me! While renovating a bathroom, they helped me find the perfect match to an existing antique marble vanity.

I wanted to maintain the character of a circa 1920's bathroom, while adding modern conveniences. For this renovation, I needed to add a new section of marble backsplash to match an existing vanity and backsplash. The color and pattern of the new marble, plus the edge and finish had to match perfectly. I also needed a large piece of matching marble for the shower / bath area...

He has a great attention to detail and spent the extra time needed to make it look impeccable. Thank you!

  • They did Everything!! I went to the warehouse and chose my exact granite slabs; they measured my counters at my house and then let me map out on the granite slabs exactly how each counter would be cut out. On install day, they removed existing countertops, raised the surface 1/4" to accommodate for difference in thickness from Formica to granite, removed my cooktop and sink, installed new sink (with all plumbing)...

  • We went to store, met with designer. We knew what type of material and pattern we wanted before going to the store. They helped us pick out sinks and made great recommendations for edging to meet our needs. We were told it would be approx 6 weeks until the counters were ready. The company has two date ranges; a shorter time frame for homeowners who do not have a working kitchen (new construction) and a longer range for those who have a working kitchen (remodel). We were in the longer range...

My salesperson Kathy was very nice and helpful. They have a fantastic selection of granites and the prices are clearly marked making staying within your budget simple. • It was a great experience from the second I walked in the door! Greeted immediately, discussed what the project was, reviewed my kitchen design plans- then shown through their huge selection of granite slabs. I felt I got personal attention and a great price!! The countertops were installed within 10 days of the measure. They look great. My wall is not straight, but the fit was perfect. I am very happy- and have already recommended granite and marble works to my friends.

  • I recently had to replace an older gas cooktop and the new unit's insert was a slightly different shape/size than the old one and didn't fit in the cutout on the granite countertop. I contacted Granite & Marble Works on a Friday to see if it would even be possible for the the cutout to be enlarged. They assured me that they could do this and quickly set up an appointment for me for early the following week. The technician/stone cutter, Rob Lopez, was excellent, second to none.

  • Very professional and excellent work. I am having them do another granite and sink installation in a second bathroom in February, 2015. They are top-notch. From the owners to the sales staff to the cutters to the installers......you cannot get a better job done at such a reasonable price. You will not be sorry if you choose this establishment.

  • We were all set to hire a Lowe's subcontractor to do this job but hesitated when we were told we would have to remove the old counters ourselves and make sure everything was "perfect" for the installation of the new countertops. In addition, we would have to hire a plumber to install the new sink. We found Granite and Marble Works when the appliance installer recommended them...

  • Just had my granite counters installed Tuesday. I love them! The installers did a wonderful job and were a pleasure to work with. The sales team really helped us to find just the right stone. The new granite made my cabinets look more warm and makes the counter space look bigger. I also extended the top on the island, what an improvement. Thank you so much to everyone at Granite & Marble Works.

  • My husband and I couldn't be more pleased! We recently had beautiful quartz counters installed in both our kitchen and our master bath and everything went perfectly. Our entire process from choosing our stone to installation, AND getting us through a trying time with some cabinet ordering issues went so smoothly. Giant shout out to Angela who was constantly in contact with me and made every effort to fit in our job once the new cabinets finally arrived! A second shout out to George who is amazingly professional and completely commands the install process. He pays super close attention to every detail and makes sure everything is perfect! We couldn't be happier!!

  • “Granite and Marble Works helped us find the perfect piece of marble to match an existing piece in our bathroom--the in house fabricators even finished the edge of the new piece to match the old one. After expert measurements and a perfect install in a difficult spot (we live in an old house where nothing is "square") the bathroom is flawless! Thanks G & M, you deserve more than five stars, you ROCK!”

  • Thank you for a magnificent job! Our new beautiful kitchen countertops are perfect.

  • This is the second time we've used them for tile install and granite countertops. Every time we deal with them they are just easy to deal with. They are perfectionists as well. They measure everything to one sixteenth of an inch so everything is cut to very specific dimensions. They are just really great people to work with. We called them and said we wanted to change something because we wanted it to look different and they were great. They gave us an estimate as we went along and made changes to the project. They did our kitchen in November 2009 and they were amazing. They came in and basically cleaned up our project that other people messed up. They did better than I could have ever thought it could be finished. They were fantastic in that. They've always been very good craftsmen and they are easy to work with.

  • All went well..met all time frames for viewing stone, preparing template, all installation. Had all accessories available for purchase..well coordinated very cordial and accommodating staff. Installer provided first mineral oil treatment, answered all questions. The business is very busy but they were clear on length of backlog and complied with reasonable timelines. Pricing was similar to other vendors. same ballpark, but with exceptionally larger inventory than others and vast showroom space. Well-run local business

  • King Brothers Builders sent us to Granite & Marble Works. We were not disappointed. From the beginning right through the installation, the sale was handled professionally and creatively. Mike came out to measure and offered sink options and other suggestions. We did go back to the showroom to mark out where we would like the marble to be cut. This was suggested by the staff and definitely worth the time (20 minutes). George and Chris we fabulous at installing the counter, making adjustments where necessary. They foresaw a problem with our floor installation and suggested how we might handle it. They even offered to put back our old counter top if we wanted to wait until the floor was installed. They were so patient. We could not be happier with the service and quality we received from Granite & Marble Works. Thank you Mike and Margaret and all the staff for your friendly, professional service.

  • I had a great experience with Granite and Marbles work. They have the biggest warehouse with all the beautiful natural stones. • “We had Granite & Marble Works design and install the granite for our kitchen. We first worked with Jeff to pick out the color in their showroom. At first it was overwhelming with all the choices but Jeff helped us whittle the choices down to one that met all our needs. When we were ready they came out to template the counter and the gentleman who came out, who was also the owner, was so nice and professional. Within a week and half they were back to install. There were some issues that had to be addressed during the installation and Ray and his team worked to overcome them and made a potential stressful situation, seamless. Ray returned the following week to set one last remaining piece and you couldn't ask for a better representative of the company. Ray knows his stuff and is the type of gentleman you would want to be in front of your customers. Thank you Margaret for a wonderful experience with your company and please feel free to use us as a reference as a fully satisfied customer.”

  • Really well. They were a pleasure to work with. Their facility is very large and they have a large inventory of stone of all kinds. They patiently allowed us to wander their warehouse on 5 separate occasions as we first chose one type of granite, then switched to a different one. They were available by phone or email if you needed anything or had questions. The granite price included the sink which was a rare find.
