Ready for beautiful countertops like this? Then it’s time to call Granite & Marble Works.

Is your kitchen countertop so dated or worn that you don’t enjoy spending time there? If so, it could be time to replace it. While kitchen remodels seem intimidating, at Granite & Marble Works we make it easy. Thanks to our ability to digitally template over your existing countertops, it’s relatively simple to replace the old with the new, and it’s a surprisingly affordable way to give your entire kitchen a facelift. Still on the fence? Here are the top 5 signs it’s time to replace your kitchen countertops.

It’s uncommon to find cracks in quartz or granite kitchen countertops, but wood and laminate will crack, and even erode, over time. While some cracks can be repaired, it can be difficult to achieve a perfect color match. Besides being unsightly, cracks in a kitchen countertop can be unsanitary. Both dirt and bacteria can accumulate in the cracks and contaminate food.

Stains or Burns
Permanently worn or “dirty” countertops can make the whole kitchen appear dingy. Stubborn stains, from things like red wine and coffee, and ugly burns on your countertops are an indication of excessive wear and tear. If you’ve tried every DIY concoction to remove the stains, or your countertops have burns, warps or bubbling from contact with heat, consider replacing them with durable granite kitchen countertops that are highly resistant to staining, scratching and heat.

Just because there’s no physical damage, or excessive wear and tear, doesn’t mean you should be forced to live with outdated kitchen countertops forever. If your counters are so difficult to keep clean (think tile and grout) that you find yourself avoiding the kitchen and eating out instead, it’s probably time to buy new. Likewise, if you dislike the color or material so much that you don’t have guests over, you are long overdue for a change.

Kitchen Update or Addition
If you want to renovate your kitchen, but you can’t afford the time and expense of a full remodel, new kitchen countertops go a long way in improving the overall appearance of your kitchen, even if you leave the same appliances, cabinets and flooring. And if you’re planning to expand your kitchen, keep in mind it’s usually easier to buy all new countertops, than to try and match the old with the new.

Home Sale
If you’re selling your house and your kitchen countertops are dated, you should probably plan on replacing them. Potential buyers can be turned off if they see a remodel in their future; nowadays, most buyers prefer an updated home to a DIY special. Check with your real estate agent before taking the plunge, but you’ll likely be able to get more money for your home and sell it faster simply by replacing your kitchen countertops.
